HACIENDA BACOC THE YUCATAN 2

This is the second black and white digital photograph from the series of images made for the architects Rejes Rios from Merida in Mexico. The original built between 1880 and 1910 was a hacienda for making sisal fiber but fell into disuse owing to lack of demand when synthetic fibers were introduced. It was rebuilt using local materials between 2007 and 2009.Some parts of the original hacienda have remained almost untouched being sympathetically incorporated with the new.
With any architectural photography the purpose is to express the integrity of a building and to be inspired by the vision of the original designer. I hope I did him justice.
