Philia

In Philia the human figures grow from the ground like trees. They set on their journey, ever-connected and in constant aid to each other. Created by assembling images of sand and figures, the video reflects on Aristotle’s concept of “brotherly love, Philia", described as the love of friends, family and community.

The layers of moving images are integrated into one, suggesting that humans are not just part of the environment, but they are the environment, coexisting in unity with everything and everyone else.
