Born in Sainte-Rose (Canada), Pierre Blache lives and works in Montreal and Wentworth-Nord. He has been active on the Quebec visual art scene for more than thirty years. His artistic practice combines photography, video art, sound environment and installation. His work has been shown at national level and in several group exhibitions in Europe, Latin America and Asia. His videos have been presented in places such as the National Museum of Fine Arts in Quebec and the Yanjiao Biennale in China. He has received numerous creations grants from Canadian Art Councils and has carried out various international art residencies _ Mexico, Rome & Łódź (Poland). In addition to his artistic practice, he has long worked to promote visual arts within Montreal organizations, including through management positions at VOX centre de l’image contemporaine, the Mois de la Photo à Montréal and Ciel Variable photography magazine. He is represented by the Galerie Castiglione in Montreal, which is dedicated to contemporary photography.
