Radial (nEither You nOr me)

Radial (nEither You nOr me) is one of eight artworks comprising the Entangled: The Human Gaze in an Age of Quantum Entanglement by Terry Flaxton.

If we are now in a difficult situation, who’s fault is all of this? How can the hero of a thousand faces avoid the task, the gamble, that to return home to a state of naivety you have to commit and take the risk of going through with your acts. We knew that if we all were to gaze at Medusa, albeit it via a mirror – the mirror of the digital – we should be able to gaze at the Medusa with her innumerable snakes heads for hair and each one of these was a different choice that should we take the risk and look, could be activated. In looking into the mirror of the digital that alone activate the old piece of chthonic magic: To observe is to alter. The only real answer to ‘who is culpable’ is that of course we are all collectively culpable. We all chose this route to the Quantum, we all knew the dangers, we all voted to take the chance. But of course there is no real blame here. Yes it's do or die, but it’s always been the case.
