Ashokkumar Mistry's work explores the human desire for truth. World Check considers the development of tools to assess risk and how they impinge on civil liberties. This highly detailed image focus on the rationalisation of the familiar with the unfamiliar. The drawings in this series are constructed using two types of miniature sword motifs that are antithetical to the overall image they form. They present a binary world espoused by the likes of conservative political scientist Samuel P. Huntington in his lecture titled Clash of Civilizations. The images are displayed on a large scale enveloping the viewers gaze and compelling them to approach the detail of their construction.
