John Karborn (b. 1985, London) is a prototype artist, designer and film-maker. His work takes pleasure in imperfection and immediacy - a deliberate attempt to fashion a dark, experimental, made-on-the-run-just-get-on-with-it kind of pop.
John’s work represents an instinctive assembly of ‘ordinary’ everyday objects, traditional fine-art techniques and materials coupled with both emerging and archaic technologies. He draws and builds from the rapidly evolving and universal visual ‘language’ in which we are all immersed – animated gifs, film, digital media, advertising, photography, glitches, iconography, mythology, architecture, nature, commercial imagery, the bizarre under-belly of the internet... All this he uses to produce a poetic narrative of the sublime and unpredictable world around us.
