The Day of the Dead is one of the best known festivities in Mexico. The cempasúchil flower is a symbol of life and death. Its yellow-orange color represents the sunlight, with which the spirits guide themselves to return to their homes on November 1.
The photograph, taken in November 2019, was inspired by the flower and its orange hue. The morning light gave it a stronger, brighter hue. To give the photo some character, I used a glass sphere. It gives the impression that the flower is encapsulated in the sphere.
