Eric Schockmel (b.1982) is a Luxembourgish artist and director specializing in animation and motion graphics. In his work, he explores notions of organic systems and organizational hierarchies through the esthetics of science fiction and video games. Exploring different media and spaces, his animated compositions have come alive as multi-screen installations, water projections, in galleries and theatres, at concerts as well as on computer and mobile screens. His projects are part of the permanent collection at MUDAM Luxembourg and have been shown at international festivals including onedotzero, Ars Electronica, transmediale, London Design Festival, Japan Media Arts Festival and the VIMEO showcase at Art Basel Miami Beach.
Schockmel received his MA in Communication Design from Central Saint Martins. He lives and works in London.
