İrem Çoban was born in 1986 in Turkey. She completed her undergraduate at first rank and her master's degree in the department of Radio, Television and Cinema of Galatasaray University at Istanbul, Turkey. During her undergraduate, she designed many posters, magazines and books as a designer at Galatasaray University Design Workshop. She has participated in many exhibitions, festivals and workshops in various countries such as USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Italy, Germany, Turkey, South Korea and Bulgaria. At the Art Woman 2020 Geo-Graphies exhibition organized by Primo Piano Living Gallery in Lecce-Italy, she won the best technical application award with her video work Tell me my future video work and was awarded the Silver Certificate. Her short film Duy, which empirically treats the story of a child bride, was selected by various international festivals for Offical Selection. She completed her education at the Fine Arts Department, Proficiency in Art Cinema Program at Maltepe University, and completing her short film Last Performance. Her thesis work received the Doctoral Thesis Research Scholarship on Women in March 2020 at the festival organized by Festiva Istanbul Culture and Arts Association and Shenema International Short Film Platform.
