Kaya Hacaloğlu was born in 1975 Ankara, Turkey. He is s a graduate of Cinema studies from the University of Hartford. He has worked within the field of video and photography with various artists coming from various disciplines such as literature, poetry, music, painting, performance. He practiced live-cinema aka Vjing with poetic and rythmic usage of video loops, containing diverse material from found-footage to home videos to create a montage of form and representation, alongside electro/acoustic and atmospheric music. In his images; themes of displacement underlay, a wounded but pensive time and reflects on the mechanics of melancholia. His works suggest on the finite linearity of this fragile and tactile medium.
