Northern Lights

This artwork has deeper and more moody colors. There is a strong vertical dimensionality to the painting which is balanced by brush strokes that are more horizontal, so there is a tension in the painting between the two. It's called "Northern Lights" because the shapes resemble a northern pine forest and the darker rainbow colors are the aurora borealis.
This piece also started as a texture which was then manipulated in Topaz Studio to reveal this colorful and unusual piece.
