Cognition is a collection of nine audiovisual artworks by Alvin Mak. The collection presents abstract moving images which visualize the mindscape.

The works in the collection explore mental turbulence, the relationship between conscious and unconscious thought, and the formation of thought and perception at the edge of the unconscious void. 3D geometric data is used to warp and bend light. The ripple and flow this creates results in transitory motion as elements synthesize and dissolve.
