Born in Tokyo, Japan (1980) Ammon became engaged in the arts at an early age. Inspired by the fantastic narratives of manga culture, he would gain early experience drawing through the reproducing of manga imagery.
Raised in a bilingual family, an American father and Japanese mother, Ammon was transplanted into the San Francisco bay area at the age of 11. A few years later, his Picasso and Schiele influenced painting portfolio would gain him acceptance to the UCLA Art program where he would graduate with a BA in Art, with a focus in multimedia in 2004.
Currently his art practice deals with both painting and film making. His paintings cover both traditional painting on canvas as well as light paintings where the LED light become the brush, used to splash different colors towards the lens. Both types of work are presented in a giant scale.
