Shot with my Android phone camera, heavily processed in Photoshop. "The Sumptuous Deluge" is a visual exploration of decay and the life that thrives around it, underwater, at a dock in Saint Martin.
The objective in this image was to find beauty within dilapidation and decay.
Since this image was shot in 2016, hurricanes Irma and Maira hit back to back, and devastated the island.
It is unlikely this ecosystem I recorded in Octorber of 2016 is even still there, much less in its original shape and form.
So I can add the inevitability of change to the objective of this series as well.
We only really have this moment.
