Andrea Balestrero

Andrea Balestrero (b. 1970, Genova, IT) Lives and works in Mexico City. He's an architect interested in the hybridization of architecture, urban design and visual arts with decades of experience as practitioner, teacher and researcher. He is one of the founding members of gruppo A12, a collective of architects active in the field between art and architecture at an international level for more than 20 years. A12' work has been exhibited in art and architecture institutions worldwide: Barbican Art Gallery (London), Biennial of Athens, Biennial of Bejing, Biennial of Busan, Biennial of Istanbul, Biennial of São Paulo, Biennial of Shanghai, Biennial of Venice, CCA Kitakyushu, Fondazione Pistoletto (Biella IT), Kröller Müller Museum (Otterlo NL), MAMCO Geneve (CH), MAXXI Rome, MNAC Bucharest, Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, PS1 New York, Santa Monica Museum of Art,Triennale di Milano, Villa Manin (Codroipo IT), ZKM Karlsruhe, among others. In 2021 he's been part of the 1st cohort of Verticalcryptoart residency and is currently collaborating with Monograma proyect as metaverse architect.
