Morgan Cawdrey

Whitefish, MT USA
Morgan began selling paintings at 14 after winning first place in his age division in the Montana State Jr. Duck Stamp contest several times and has work in private collections from California to Boston. He continues to study the art of painting dye on silk and began painting “en plein air” with oils in 2014 in his backyard, the spectacular Glacier National Park. Morgan graduated in 2009 from Dartmouth College with a degree in Chinese Language and Literature, and his three terms spent in China absorbing the culture brought a new perspective and reverence to his study of the ancient Chinese art of silk painting, while studying Japanese block printing as well. He spent the 2009-2010 school year volunteer teaching in the Jaluit Atoll of the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific, narrowly escaping to Boston afterward for a year. In 2020 Morgan began assisting his father with their gallery in Whitefish. When he is not in the studio he is playing in the outdoors, hoping to spot the wildlife and vistas that inspire him. Morgan lives with his wife, two kids and their dog Huckleberry.
