Cerebration I is a 2020 video artwork by Alvin Mak, launched as part of the Cognition collection. An abstract image is used to visualize the mindscape. 3D geometric data is used to warp and bend light. The ripple and flow result in the motion that presents the synthesis and the dissolution of elements. Cerebration is a visualization of mental turbulence. Thoughts are juggled, ideas are rearranged in the process of complex thinking. Then a wave of revelation comes and wipes the slate clean and prepares for the next iteration. It is a perpetual process of mental activity to progress.
