‘Scherven 277’ is a reflection on past, present and future. An abstract visual poem. The ‘scherven’ (shards) all reflect their own piece of something. Together they form a new, albeit distorted, reconstruction of an image that exist somewhere sometime.
This artwork can — and should — be played as an endless loop.
Harold’s main goal is to evoke emotions through his works, although he does not want to dictate the viewer’s emotion. The end goal of his ongoing research is to create abstract ‘art pour l’art’ – in his eyes the purest form of art. Art that only exists to let viewers have their own personal experience.
