WHAT IF? Group Exhibition at Fabrica

On 14 July 2021 Fabrica Research Centre launch Fabrica Frame Vol.2, a new collection of works by artists currently working at the organisation. The collection features work by Zhang Zhan, Alessandro Niro, Lara Lussheimer, Diego Gil de Biedma, Anna Hynowska, Elena Pettinelli, Gianluca Urdinoz, Maximilian Glas, Simon Peters and Olfa Farhat.

Opening on 27 July, Fabrica also present WHAT IF? a group exhibition at their space in Treviso, Italy. Running until 31 January 2022, the exhibition showcases twelve artworks which include installations, posters, videos, photographs and digital explorations.

The works in the exhibition examine, from a range of perspectives and on a range of scales from the global to the domestic, the possibilities the future might offer. In particular the exhibition imagines how the future could be shaped by technology, questioning how the technologies currently integrated into daily life will evolve and which new technologies will emerge.

"Through different artistic practices every “Fabricante” envisions the possible, the probable or the preferable. We might upload ourselves to a digital space to deal with posterity, educate children to reinforce old ideas or create security systems in order to avoid them. Either as a warning against dystopias or a wish for utopias, these works can help to create scenarios and think critically about where humanity is heading. So What if we made an exhibition about the future so we can better understand the present. " - Fabrica Press Release
