Liquid silver is seductively born out of and dissolves into infinite space. One in a series of three computer-generated moving pictures taking the earth's raw material as subject matter, both tantalizing and disconcerting 'Silver' explores our complex relationship with the precious metal.

'Silver' is part of an evolution of animations the artist began with 'Funky Oil' in 1999, which was sold in Paul Smith and The Tate Modern Shop as 'DVD Pop Art'. At the time, Ilic described DVD Pop Art as 'new mass-produced moving image art enabling the public to transform their televisions into picture frames for the exhibition of moving image art'.
