I am unique and so is everyone else is part of Passages, a collection of nine images and videos from different series of work by Nicolas Feldmeyer.

The two video works in the collection are an exploration of rhythm and contemplation, of Nature and the discovery of patterns in its vastness. The first editions of both video were purchased by the UCL Art Museum, as part of the William Coldstream prize Feldmeyer was awarded for his degree show at the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL.

This work could be described as a contemplative video collage. Tree branches moving in the wind behind a pattern of black dots create a subtle oscillating field where foreground and background become ambiguous. A very light intervention on an existing and natural structure activates it with a new sense of wonder.
