My artistic imperative is to create compelling images, to cultivate compositions that might not exist in a real sense, and to push the possibilities of what “is” is. Successive generations of artists have used new and interesting, sometimes unexpected, tools. I have chosen to push the possibility of what a “paintbrush” can be, because, ultimately, it isn’t relevant what tools an artist uses; it is about the process, the emotion, and the resultant image. The digital environment is just another tool, a fancy paintbrush. I act as a conduit for my images. They speak not only for me, but on behalf of their own existence. I have always been fascinated by the abstract, a non-objective reality which allows for an open interpretation of what is “real.” My work is more of an open visual question with many answers. The resolution will be in the observer’s interpretation.
