Dolors Manrubia was born in 1961 in Reus, Spain. She lives and works in Barcelona. She completed a Bachelor of Phisical sciences from the University of Barcelona, and engaged in further studies in digital Art at the LLotja Art & Design College. She develop her professional career in digital and technological sector for some years. The art of Dolors Manrubia comes out of a passion for shapes and colour.. Using diverse media, his art explores mind compositions, including abstract, botanical like compositions and unreal and dreamlike spaces. In 2010 she turned her practice toward the digital, and now paints almost exclusively on electronic canvas. She uses both still and video. Manrubia exhibits regularly both individually and collectively. Some of his recent individual projects are "In Progress" at Imaginart Gallery Barcelona, "Connections" in the Gallery Espai G of Terrassa (2015) and "Between Time and Space" at Gallery Antoni Pinyol of Reus (2014). As a collective project, she has participated in "Jazzuela vol.2" presented at the gallery Espai G d'art de Terrassa (2015) and the gallery Espai Cavallers of Lleida (2015). In recent years she has won and has been finalist in art prizes of reference, the most recent being the 2nd prize at the biennial painting Ceferino Olivé 2013, finalist in the awards Torres Garcia 2015, Ricard Camí 2015 Francesc Gimeno 2014 and Raima in 2014.
