Tom Alves

SANTANA DO RIACHO
Tom Alves is a photographer based out of Brazil, but travels the entire planet capturing some of the most iconic landscapes and the richest cultures in ways we’ve never seen before. Tom used to say he was a photographer before he even knew it. His art was born from observing and living with nature, in his backcountry. They are memories of his travels, as a boy, with his father, through the interior of Minas Gerais state in Brazil. And, as an adult, this added to the pleasure of exploring, discovering isolated places, different realities and people, new worlds. Photography was, after all, the best way Tom found to express his art. Today, with more than a decade on the road, the artist has published in numerous exhibitions, books and dozens of magazines, newspapers and other media.
