j’habite de l’autre côté de la rive là où l’eau claire et gélive est bonne à boire
I prefer to remain a faceless artist because I like to be anyone like any other citizen of the world for the sake of fairness. However, I can show you this visual I always use as profile picture. This is my artist statement in 1st person. But I also like to use this one which, like my lack of face as profile picture, embodies my absence from the world in motion, meaning at the same time the imagination of each of us and the freedom of everybody to create: j'habite de l'autre côté de la rive là où l'eau claire et gélive est bonne à boire (only in french!). New technologies, citizenship, open democracies are the new future. ♦ www.lenieblue.com ♦ Last screenings: 12th Athens Digital Arts Festival (Greece, 2016); “The Recombinants” (online exhibition curated by Madja Edelstein-Gomez, Marseille, France, 2017); Average Art #20 magazine (Liverpool, UK, march 2018); Make8ieleve #14 'THE END' (online contemporary art magazine, february 2019); Post-Posters (Carton-pâte Editions, posters under Free Art License): public billposting in France (Strasbourg, march 2019); 3th One-Off Moving Image Festival (Valencia, Spain & Gol, Norway; 2020); Plokta TV Film Festival (Amsterdam, Netherlands, 2020); 7th International Istanbul Web Biennial 'Apeiron' (Turkey, 2020); 'In Solidarity' program, New American Cinema Group (NACG) / Film-Makers' Cooperative (New York, US; 2020).
